The Level 3 Award in Wines course includes nine interactive classes over a nine-week period. Students register through The Wine Center and sit the exam at one of our satellite locations, but take classes in a digital, global classroom. An instructor from the WSET® leads the course, which includes 9 weekly, interactive classes.
Each week covers a new topic and students can log in whenever they want during the week. The online program has a set start and finish date for the week but no set class time. 10 hours of study is recommended per week to cover the online activities and read the relevant chapters in the textbook. There is also a one-day tasting tutorial. A student can contact the educator at any time for the duration of the scheduled course, should they have any questions. Each week includes a series of independent activities guiding the student through the key wine regions of the world looking at the factors in the vineyard and winery that influence wine styles.
Students are advised to taste a range of wines during their studies. A list of recommended tasting samples will be found in the course specifications. Students can post their tasting notes in the Online Classroom for review by the educator.
Successful candidates receive the WSET Level 3 Award in Wines.
